10th IPELS Workshop
Djurönäset, 8-12 June 2009

KTH / EE / Space and Plasma Physics / IPELS 2009

The nearest major airport serving Stockholm is Arlanda International Airport which is connected to the Stockholm City Centre by Arlanda Express (high-speed train) as well as shuttle buses. Smaller airports serving the region include Bromma and Skavsta.

Chartered buses from Stockholm City Terminal 7 June

Sunday 7 June we have arranged chartered buses at 15:00 (3PM) and 18:00 (6PM) from Stockholm City (leaving from City Terminal / Cityterminalen), adjacent to the Central Station (where Arlanda Express arrives), for arriving participants. The departure boards inside the City Terminal will show "IPELS 2009, Djurönäset."

Saturday 13 June, bus transportation will be similarly arranged for departing participants.

For those that prefer individual transportation we recommend taxis, although they can be expensive. Make sure to ask for a flat rate, which should be approximately SEK 700 from city centre to Djurönäset.

Public buses

It is also possible to reach Djurönäset by public bus from the city centre, which takes approximately 45 minutes. Take bus 433 or 434 from "Slussen," the bus stop is located directly beneath the "Slussen" underground station. Get off at "Djurönäset" (first stop after Djuröbron, Djurö bridge). During the day buses run every half hour. Please note that tickets must be bought prior to boarding the bus, for example at the Slussen underground station. (current timetable, in Swedish)

Own wheels

Rental cars tend to be expensive and since they are of very limited use during the workshop week we do not recommend renting a car. However, if you do have your own car, take road 222 towards Stavsnäs. About 40 km from Stockholm there is a turnoff to the right marked "Stavsnäs 2." Keep going (do not turn right) onto Djuröbron (Djurö bridge). Shortly after the bridge you will find the Djurönäset Conference Centre on the right. (map)
